Photos below are from our trip to Daloa and Bouaflé.
“Let’s go with Jesus” — A sign at the forefront of a village off the road to Daloa.
The house my aunt and uncle live in in Daloa. The property has served missionaries for decades.
More photos from the property:
Ranger, one of two dogs who roam the property looking for chickens to pester.
The view from a main road through Daloa. In the distance, a mosque. There are many mosques in this part of the country.
The outside wall of a home my father lived in when he was a child in Daloa. The house and neighborhood are rundown now because of war from 2002-2011.
Further outside Daloa and close to a village sits this Assemblies of God church. The church is on land my family wants to turn into an integration center for displaced women in this part of the country.
The sign for the church in front of one of the few major cocoa factories in Daloa.
The village has planted manioc close to the church.
On the right below, my father stands with a deaconess from the AG church on this property. She arrives early on Sunday mornings to clean the church for service.
Some women from the village and church posed for a brief moment before continuing on with their morning chores.
After viewing the integration center property, we headed to Bouaflé where we attended the annex church there nestled into neighboring villages. The church members were colorful and welcoming. My father preached — “Jesus is Alive!”
After the sermon, we celebrated with a baby dedication.
