Fishing villages line the Ivory Coast; many of the fishermen have done this their entire lives. Their livelihood depends on these wooden, hand-carved boats.
During all hours of the day, you can see them in the distance, hanging from the shores while they angle themselves far from the dangerous African undertow. Until dusk we watched them and into the night. Even as the daylight faded and the pitch dark consumed us, they threw out their nets hoping to catch a few fins for the next morning.
